Hitachi America first entered the U.S. market in the 1920s by exporting electric fans; since then, Hitachi America has become a center for innovation strategy in North America. The Bay Area anchors the company’s digital and innovation activity.  Its Santa Clara headquarters opened in 2015 is home to Hitachi America, the group’s regional corporate headquarters; Hitachi Vantara, the company’s global headquarters for digital business; and Hitachi’s North American R&D headquarters.
