Gekkeikan established its Folsom sake brewery as part of its strategy to reach new markets in 1989; it was the company’s first overseas brewing facility, selected due to the abundance of Calrose rice and water from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Now in business for over 30 years, California has proved the perfect location for the brewery.

With the cooperation of its business partners, they have steadily expanded their trade networks, increased sales, and have continued to grow. Today, their products are shipped to all U.S. states, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, Colombia, Brazil, and South Korea.
