China

China Trade and Investment Network (CTIN)

The China Trade and Investment Network (CTIN) was announced on September 10, 2019 (see press release here). It is a multi-organizational partnership focused on expanding California’s trade and investment efforts in China. Two-way trade between California and China was valued at $177 billion in 2018. CTIN enables California businesses to gain from the many economic development organizations focused on exports to and investment from China by sharing resources and contacts, working together on trade shows and missions, and cooperating on business development.

Mexico

Mexico

Announced on October 2, 2019, the Mexico Trade and Services Desk is used by California’s Trade and Investment Representative for the Americas Carlos Valderrama to promote trade and investment by Californian and Mexican businesses and support more robust two-way exchange on environmental protection, education, and tourism. The goal of this desk is to create a sustained, strategic, and mutually-beneficial partnership. The Trade and Services Desk is located at the University of California’s Casa de la Universidad de California in México.

Armenia

In September 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom met with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and signed an agreement to create a Trade and Services Desk in Armenia. This desk will be used by delegations and California’s Trade and Investment Representative for Europe, MEA, and India Emily Desai to encourage trade and investment by Californian and Armenian businesses. The Trade and Services Desk will foster economic cooperation and development by assisting entrepreneurs in connecting with their counterparts to engage in various trade and commercial activities.
